Health and Safety in Construction

Construction Industry

BSA has a long association with the Construction Industry and is a provider of CDM Coordinator services to many big client players such as Whitbread, KFC (Yum Restaurants), Persimmon Homes, Countryside, Lendlease and many others. We act for contractors - helping with getting and keeping them up to scratch so that important contracts are not lost through inadequate health and safety competency.

BSA carries out many functions such as attending pre contract meetings to advise on potential issues, carry out risk assessments, draw up method statements and Stage 2 (Construction Phase) Health and Safety plans. We deliver Site Inductions and carry out Site Inspections with Reports to ensure the plans are being followed.

Stage 2 (Construction Phase) Health and Safety Plans

These plans are produced for each separate job and should specifically help to eliminate, reduce or manage the risks of any construction project. The result is lower commercial risk due to downtime, prohibition notices or worse still, the high cost of any accidents. [See Health & Safety Executive Website]. In many cases, projects cannot proceed without sufficiently developed construction phase plans.

On site inductions

On site Health and Safety inductions are a vital step in the communication of management policy and rules regarding health and safety. All manufacturing, construction or refurbishment sites should have a briefing process for workers or visitors at the beginning of their work on site. Inductions are delivered in clear language designed to keep sites as safe as possible throughout the construction phase.
