BSA are are currently working on a Country Estate project.
The alteration and refurbishment of a country estate occupying 850 acres in Surrey is a wide-ranging project that BSA have been instructed to work on, together with a design and delivery team experienced in heritage buildings and grounds. The range of projects includes a 2-story extension to form an east and west wing of the mansion house, refurbishment of several lodges, infrastructure works, a practice golf course and landscaping.
Throughout this project good coordination and communication with both the design team and the Principal contractor is essential to ensure that compliance is maintained right through the estate. The challenge as far as CDM regulations were concerned was how to deliver the services of Principal Designer proportionately such that the wide variety of risks associated with the whole estate were identified and managed correctly and well.
