HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU’RE DOING ALL YOU NEED TO REGARDING HEALTH AND SAFETY?

Most people and organisations just want to concentrate on doing their ‘day job’ as best they can.

However, no-one wants to inadvertently put lives at risk for safety or health reasons nor wants to be operating illegally. Indeed, there are positive benefits in productivity when health and safety policies are implemented.

So, how do you know when you might need help – if you aren’t a health and safety professional who already knows all the many pieces of legislation and the practical ways of implementing them?

One approach is to go through the (free) BSA Health & Safety Check List and make sure that you’ve covered off the relevant points covering Policy, Insurances, Staff Communication, First Aid, Risk assessments, Fire Safety, Accident Books, Personal Protective Equipment, Hazardous Substances, Display Screen Assessments, Manual Handling, Plant & Machinery, Policies for high risk groups of staff, customers or visitors, Housekeeping & Welfare, Electrical Testing and Record Keeping.

Please download the BSA Health & Safety Check List with our compliments: Health and Safety Check List

If you’ve gone through the Check List, you will at least know the areas where you are have done everything desirable, may be exposed to risk or where you would like to do more. In addition, large companies may also need to look at their overall management processes for Health and Safety – and ‘plan, implement, review and continuously improve’.

If you have any concerns, just call BSA on 01483 467270 for a no-obligation chat – we’re good at ‘keeping people safe, making work possible’.
